Writer’s Block

Well, it happens to all of us.  I have writer’s block and its OK.  I simply don’t feel like writing and all of my fall/halloween/ work duties are overwhelming me.

In fact, I don’t feel so hot. Could it be swine flu?  Please Lord, no.  So I’m going to crawl under the covers right now and fend it off.  I have a son coming home form college today and I want to be happy and chipper and make his favorite meal. Right now?  I feel like the meal.  Leftovers.

I am working on a new blog about throwing out my bra.  the one that has supported me through good times and bad for the past 3 years.  Yes, I wear a good bra into the ground.

So when I get my mojo back…. ill have a new blog.  In the mean time- some more of my favorite words– they are just fun to say.  And Id like to hear yours too.

Lee –just worry about yourself and get better. When the Mom gets sick everyone suffers. I know. I’m glad your son will be home this weekend from school. This time of year just sucks. I hate it. It’s suppose to be a happy time of year — the holidays, but when your a Mom it’s lousy. Costumes, deorations, pumpkins, carving pumpkins, etc. Then when that ends it’s time for Thanksgiving and all that damn cooking! Then as soon as that ends the Christmas decorations come out. It’s a whole weekend project. Then the following weekend it’s time to go cut down a Christmas tree. I know we should be having fun but sometimes being a mom is not fun — it alot of responsibility that only women know about. Hope you feel better. Lynn

    Dear Lee,
Hope you are feeling better. This flu situation is overwhelming. My husband is a high school principal, and he says it is the major concern on a daily basis. Some area schools have even cancelled classes for a few days because of the absentee rates! So hope you are on the mend. Hope also that your son had a wonderful visit home. This blogging thing is still a bit new for me, but now my daughter wants me to add facebook as well! Not going to happen any time soon.
The real reason I am writing is that I re-read your first book – In an Instant – this weekend. Couldn’t put it down. I so hope there will be another Lee Woodruff book somewhere down the road. You truly know how to reach a person’s heart with your words.
Speaking of words – I have a favorite: “mischievious”. My friend and I use it to describe our dogs and their creativity for finding trouble! Rest and take good care.

    Hi Lee,

I’ve always loved saying the word LUGUBRIOUS.

I thoroughly enjoyed your chapter “Swimming Through It”. You are a real inspiration. I swim laps at least five times a week and I plan to do this the rest of my life (I’m 59). At the high school pool I have made new friends, improved my health, worked through angry times and generally just had fun by getting in the water.

    Hope you feel better soon,

    Amy

Hi Lee. My favorite word when feeling down or anxious is BACKUP… when a noun, a source of rejuvenation; when a verb, a necessary step to get around immovable obstacles.

Anyway, I met you this past March at the New York Round Table Writer’s Conference. We spoke a bit about writing and a bit more about the environmental impact of certain waste issues; not bras, one of which you mention will soon be making its way to a landfill, but an item a bit more voluminous and interesting if you remember. Anyway, that conversation got me thinking I should focus my own writing on the environmentalist’s dilemma … how to motivate people to care about the environment, and how to use that motivation to identify, prioritize and act on the issues we are all facing. Would love to know if you think my approach can grow legs (http://www.angertozen.com), and if you would like addressed in a future post the one waste disposal issue you first raised in your speech to us aspiring writers.

One last thing. I have been down since losing my corporate job in this wonderful economy. I decided to use writing as a way to find humor and inspiration in the experience. The book I was developing and which I mentioned when we first met, Unemployment from Anger to Zen, is now posted at http://www.angertozen.com/intro. As a successful writer, do you have any advice for me on how to use this site as a way to develop the “platform” that every agent tells me is essential if I am ever to be published by one of the established houses?

(It’s okay with me if you keep private this comment to your post… it is really your feedback I am interested in.)

    Lee,
Glad to learn you’re feeling better and able to be at Alvernia last Tuesday. So enjoyed your evening program and our brief chat at book signing. You are delightful to listen to and read, looking forward to more books! Best to you and your family.
A word for your list: “wretched”, the way I felt two weeks ago as I held my 15 year old cat as he was put to sleep after fighting numerous illnesses.

    Lee–
I am with you on the overwhelm…I have blog-writers-block from the same sort of overwhelm. Our oldest son got married in June, our second son is getting married in January. Our son was in a car accident that stopped him from going into the Marines, they all need jobs but this economy and all that goes with it is painfully challenging! Lots going on! All women are in this boat, wearing all the hats, trying to fulfill all their roles. I know your oldest is in college now, and oh how I remember the first visit home, and how important it is! Our only daughter Kate, a jr in college now, just got back in August from an 8 month trip to Africa, and had to leave for college the very next day after she returned from her journey. She came home for the weekend last weekend, for the first time, and it was as if the sun came out again. Everything sounded better, looked better, felt better to me..the sound of her guitar filled the house, and my heart. I am one of those mom’s who (yes I admit it) would go into her empty room while she was in the middle of the poorest part of Africa, and just lay in her bed..look at all her books and journals and maps, and her Beatles posters..and CRY! Having her home woke me back up from my slumber…made me feel sort of whole again. Oh, these heartstrings!!!
I certainly do hope you are feeling better by now…and that no one else in your family got the sickness…
    Some of my favorite words:

CRISP ( I agree with you on that one, for sure)

    Have a wonderful weekend, Lee!

    Lee,
Give yourself a free pass, give yourself a break. You are human, you will get tired, just like the rest of us. Its OK, throw out that bra, set yourself free! Those of us that check your blog on a regular basis, like every day, will be patient. We will give you a day or maybe 2, to feel better. After that, you gotta suck it up, GF!!!
I of course am joking, just trying to make you smile, and let you know that you are not alone, and take care of you, first. Cant make family happy if you arent, right??
I have to agree with Deb, another book would be awesome. You really do have a way with words.
    some of my fave words……….
After some thought, when I feel bad, those words are better left un-typed here. LOL!!!!! Lee, you are a better woman than I :)))
    Luv Ya

Like you, I wear my favorite bras until the straps can no longer hold up the flesh. A good bra is like a great shoe–when it fits–it’s heaven!

I’m going through the same writing slump but ironically, it’s a phrase from your book that has fired me up and produced a blog post that will go out this week.

“A different ability.” I’ll send you the link when it is up.

You’ve done a good job and i thank you for that and as well for not shocking me with unuseable garbage and spam.Thank You

I am new to this site. I found loads of useful information here. Please accept my little contribution towards community. I would like to share some http://www.weightrapidloss.com/lose-10-pounds-in-2-weeks-quick-weight-loss-tips“ rel=”nofollow”>quick weight loss tips. If you need to know how to lose 10 lbs in a calendar week, you are likely not seeing for a regular diet and exercise plan. You can lose weight with a standard diet and work out plan, However this involves a lot of time doing utmost cardio works out and adhering a strict diet. Here I will draft the perfect steps that I took to lose 10 pounds in just a calendar week.

    1. Stay away from all deep-fried nutrients for the week
    2. Drink In an 8oz glass of Citrus paradisi with breakfast each day. (this accelerates up your metabolism)
    3. Eat fair portions (stop consuming when you are full)
    4. Rather than eating 3 huge a meals a day, consume 5-6 small meals to keep your metabolism up and keep your body burning fat.
    5. Do not eat anything after 9pm. When you eat that late your body does not burn off the calories.
    6. Get plenty of sleep every night. Not getting plenty sleep has been verified to be a leading factor to the body putting up excess fat.
    7. Utilise a body/colon clean for the 7 days. This will get rid of needless fat stored close to the tummy area as well as cleanse your body of harmfull pollutants that cause you store fat and feel tired. Flush away excess pounds around the stomach area that otherwise would be hard to lose.
    8. I advice you using Acai Berry Diet Pills. This one is proven to work, and you can get a free trial.
    9. For those individuals who need to burn fat quickly, avoid alcoholic drink.
10http://www.weightrapidloss.com/lose-10-pounds-in-2-weeks-quick-weight-loss-tips“ rel=”nofollow”>. A low GI diet is an excellent method of loosing fat quickly.

Once upon a time air travel was a great deal simpler than it is today. You called one of a few airlines that flew from your airport, the agent would tell you what flights were available for a given time, and you booked the one you wanted. Airports were always bustling places, especially during the holidays, but as long as you gave yourself adequate time, the process was usually the same. You would check your bags, go through the x-ray machine, get your boarding pass, and wait patiently at the appropriate gate. Once you got on the plane you ate the snack or meal that came with your flight and watched a movie.

In recent years travel by plane has become significantly more complicated. There are so many different configurations for flights and types of fares. Dire economic circumstances have caused airlines to raise rates and charge extra fees for everything from baggage to blankets. There are complex rules about what you can and cannot carry in your luggage. It can be very difficult to determine whether you are getting the best deal or the best services when you buy an airline ticket. The internet makes the navigation of airlines, airports, and flight itineraries easier, but, even so, be prepared to do some research if you want to find a flight at the best price.

Here is something up front that might save you time and money right off the bat. If you are traveling within the United States mainland, always look at Southwest Airlines first. Southwest is almost always the best deal you will find. However, Southwest itineraries do not appear on the major travel websites, so always go directly to the airline’s website for information. Plug in your travel plans, and you will get a list of all the flights that are available. Southwest typically charges more reasonable prices than other airlines, and there are no hidden fees. The price you see is the price you get although tax and the government fee that is attached to all flights does apply. For lower prices than you can probably get anywhere else look at the “web only” fares, but keep in mind that these fares are not refundable.

Transparency of accounting systems is another good indicator of honest online casinos. When testimonials are published make sure that it is from more than a set of initials, and make sure they have a state or country. Free casino chips may be ‘virtual’ in concept, but they are used by real people!

But the best indicator of an honest online casino is by personal recommendation. This also includes affiliation of such casinos into trusted casino websites and portals. If an offer of free casino chips is made by an online casino on such a site then it can probably be trusted.
Do you want to know how to take the maximum advantage of the bonuses and promotions that the different online casinos offer? onlinecasinos5.com spills the secrets of exactly how you can do it! A case study released by onlinecasinos5.com showed the following scenario that utilizes the optimal strategy to leverage your casino deposit to your advantage. This technique will work on ALL online casinos not just onlinecasinos5.com. This is what happened with an “ideal” client in this case study:
    http://www.onlinecasinos5.com“ rel=”nofollow”>casino bonus
    http://www.bodog.com/publish/etc/medialib/bodogcom_media_lib/home-page-logo.Par.68918.Image.gif
You will discover a large number of online casinos that exists, but be sure to read all the information, including casinos, casino payments, and casino reviews, casino bonus, and casino promotions and be sure to read about the casino you want to play so you can see all the stuff that online casinos have to offer.

First, never choose a casino on the sole basis of his ranking in the search engine results. They are not necessarily good rankings on how a casino. You must go through several online casino sites to compare the benefits in detail and then make a decision. For example, should offer a bonus and, if so, how much. Are there any special promotions available?

    1. You need to go on a vacation if you want to play in the regular brick-n-mortar casinos. That will cost a good amount of money and take away a whole lot of your quality time. Then, your family may want to tag along, as they too don’t want to miss out on the action. So, in the end you will end up paying for airfares, hotel rooms, car rentals, food, shopping and hanging around. When you actually get to the casino, you will find that there’s very little money left to spend on the casino games, which is the reason why you went there in the first place! However, online casinos spare you the trouble of traveling and wasting money on riff-raffs. Plus they save you a whole lot of time as you can play in the comfort of your home at a time of your own convenience and at your own pace plus within your own budget too.

Long time lurker, thought I would say hello! I really dont post much but thanks for the good times I have here. Love this place..

When I was hurt in that automotive accident my life would be changed for good. Sadly that driver had no car insurance and I was going to be hurting for ever.

This was not time for me to start and guess what to do. I had to find a good lawyer to help me get what I needed. After all, my family was counting on me.

How dreadful was it? I has bedridden for 5 months, I had to have constant care and my hospital bills went through the roof!

Fortunately, I found a good referral site to help me.

I will post more later this period to tell you more about what I have been going through.
